NBU Board meets with G7 ambassadors
The Board of the National Bank of Ukraine (NBU) has met with G7 Ambassadors and the EU Delegation to Ukraine, according to the central bank's press service.
"It is very important for me to maintain a dialogue with international partners, which enables us to discuss our achievements and lines of further cooperation," NBU Governor Kyrylo Shevchenko said as he opened the meeting.
The NBU Governor and his deputies briefed the representatives of the international diplomatic community on the progress and results achieved on important issues: cooperation with the IMF, strengthening the NBU’s institutional capacity and independence, improving corporate governance in banks, progress in the recovery of insolvent banks’ assets, and recent changes in Ukrainian banking legislation.
“Among other things, the participants talked about the macroeconomic situation in Ukraine, the NBU’s monetary policy, the resilience of the Ukrainian banking sector to potential global challenges, as well as the regulatory framework for the virtual assets market,” the report says.
The central bank added that international partners expressed their support for the activities of the NBU’s top management.
