NBU expects Ukraine to receive $700M tranche from IMF by year-end

The National Bank of Ukraine (NBU) expects that Ukraine will receive a $700 million tranche from the International Monetary Fund (IMF) by the end of the year.

NBU Governor Kyrylo Shevchenko said this at a briefing on October 21, according to an Ukrinform correspondent.

"This year, and it will, of course, depend on the IMF board, we expect a tranche worth SDR 500 million or about $700 million. We expect the remaining amount under the program in the first and second quarters of next year," Shevchenko said.

As Ukrinform reported, earlier this week the International Monetary Fund and the Government of Ukraine signed a staff-level agreement on the first review of the Stand-By Arrangement and allocation of about $700 million tranche for Ukraine.
