Galushchenko discusses funding for decarbonisation projects with EBRD leadership
Minister of Energy of Ukraine German Galushchenko met with the leadership of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, during which he discussed the prospects for EBRD investments in the decarbonisation projects in Ukraine.
“Minister of Energy of Ukraine German Galushchenko met with the leadership of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development – EBRD Vice President Alain Pilloux and EBRD Vice President for Policy and Partnerships Mark Bowman. The parties discussed the processes and prospects for decarbonization of Ukraine’s energy sector, fair transformation of coal regions, development of nuclear and renewable energy,” the Ministry of Energy informs.
As noted, the EBRD supports Ukraine in its efforts to make a green transition and is ready to invest in specific projects on decarbonization and renewable energy.
As reported, on November 22, Minister of Finance of Ukraine Serhiy Marchenko discussed with the newly appointed EBRD Vice President for Policy and Partnerships Mark Bowman the prospects for further cooperation.
To date, the EBRD has invested EUR 15.3 billion in 505 projects in Ukraine. As of August 31, the EBRD’s portfolio in Ukraine includes 206 active projects.
The EBRD grants loans for projects in the fields of energy, agribusiness, transport, finance, etc.
