Over 9% of 2022 budget expenditures to be invested in economic development - Shmyhal

In 2022, UAH 140 billion or 9.4% of all expenditures of the state budget will be invested in Ukraine’s economic development.

Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal wrote this on Facebook, Ukrinform reports.

"It is also worth noting that over the past ten years, no budget has been provided for such a volume of capital expenditures as it will be in 2022: UAH 140 billion or 9.4% of all expenditures will be investments in economic development," he wrote.

According to Shmyhal, the document on the state budget for 2022 is the result of fruitful and coordinated work of the President, government and MPs.

The Prime Minister reiterated that the state budget for 2022 is balanced and realistic, and the priorities of the budget remain the same: healthcare, education, security and defense, infrastructure, business support, and raising social standards.

"Expenditures are planned in all these key areas, which will allow continuing the implementation of the President's initiatives and a number of government programs. Raising the salaries of healthcare workers, increasing scholarships for students, implementing the programs Great Construction and Large-scale thermal-modernization, affordable loans and affordable mortgages - all this will be provided with the necessary resources," Shmyhal wrote.

As Ukrinform reported, on December 2, the Verkhovna Rada approved the law "On the State Budget of Ukraine for 2022." As many as 268 MPs supported the document.
