Ukraine's central bank raises key interest rate to 10%

The National Bank of Ukraine has decided to raise its key interest rate to 10%.

NBU Governor Kyrylo Shevchenko said this at a briefing on Thursday, January 20, according to an Ukrinform correspondent.

"The Board of the National Bank of Ukraine has decided to raise the main interest rate to 10%," Shevchenko said.

Ukraine's central bank in December 2021 raised its main interest rate to 9%. Earlier, in October, the NBU decided to leave it unchanged. In September 2021, the central bank raised its main interest rate to 8.5%. The key interest rate was kept at 6% between June 2020 and March 2021. Then it was gradually raised to 8%.
