Ukraine seeks to cooperate with French energy corporation EDF

Ukraine is planning to cooperate with the French corporation Électricité de France (EDF).

Deputy Head of the Ukrainian President’s Office Rostyslav Shurma said this in a comment to journalists on the Rada TV channel, an Ukrinform correspondent reported.

"We are currently working out a detailed program of cooperation with EDF. We will announce details a little bit later," Shurma said.

He stressed that for Ukraine, cooperation with France in the nuclear industry is promising, because in this country nuclear generation provides production of almost 80% of electricity. In addition, EDF is the world's largest nuclear corporation: it operates 58 power units.

As reported, NNEGC Energoatom increased electricity production by 13.1% to 86.4 billion kWh in 2021 compared to 2020.
