Marchenko, business ombudsman discuss improving business climate in Ukraine

Ukrainian Minister of Finance Serhiy Marchenko and a newly appointed Business Ombudsman Roman Waschuk have discussed the issue of improving business climate in Ukraine, Ukrinform reports, referring to the Government portal.

The meeting was also attended by Deputy Minister of Finance Svitlana Vorobey and Deputy Business Ombudsman Tetyana Korotka.

The parties discussed key problems faced by business in Ukraine, the benefits of bill No.5600 for entrepreneurs, the results of introducing the registrars of settlement operations (cash registers) and strengthening cooperation between the Ministry of Finance and the Business Ombudsman Council.

Marchenko congratulated the newly appointed business ombudsman and said he hopes for continued fruitful cooperation to improve the business climate in Ukraine.

At the meeting, the issue of de-shadowing Ukrainian business was also raised. “Bill No.5600 will become the legal basis for counteracting tax evasion and creating a transparent environment. At the same time, it will allow attracting additional resources in the amount of UAH 30 billion to the budget,” the minister said.

Government’s press service reminds that the Business Ombudsman Council, established on the initiative of the Ministry of Economy, serves as an impartial and alternative mechanism of protecting the rights and interests of business entities and facilitates their dialogue with state authorities.
