Ukraine plans to approve 55 bills on European integration this year – PM Shmyhal
This year Ukraine plans to adopt 92 legal acts and 55 bills related to implementing the Association Agreement between Ukraine and the European Union, Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal has posted on Facebook.
"In 2022, we aim to adopt 92 draft government acts and 55 bills related to the European integration. The relevant annual plan has been approved this week at a meeting of the Commission on Coordination of the Ukraine-EU Association Agreement Implementation," Shmyhal wrote, Ukrinform reports.
According to the Prime Minister, the overall progress in implementing the Association Agreement has increased by 19% in two years and now stands at 63%. The largest progress in this direction has been achieved in the fields of financial services (+26% of tasks fulfilled compared to 2020), taxation (+24%), public health (+17%), energy sector (+13%), transport services (+ 2%), ecology and agriculture (+11% and +10%, respectively).
In 2021, the government approved 61 legal acts related to the European integration, including the Border Management Strategy, the Concept of the State Target Program for Fair Transformation of Coal Regions of Ukraine until 2030, the National Action Plan on Energy Efficiency for the period until 2030 and others.
As Ukrinform reported, the previous meeting of the Commission on Coordination of the Ukraine-EU Association Agreement Implementation took place in September 2021. Then the participants discussed progress in implementing the agreements reached at the 22nd Ukraine-EU Summit, preparations for the next summit in October and a number of other important issues.
