Banks provided UAH 1.7B under Affordable Loans program last week

Last week authorized banks issued loans for a total sum of UAH 1.7 billion to representatives of the micro-, small- and medium-sized enterprises under the government’s program “Affordable Loans at 5-7-9%", Ukrinform reports, referring to the Economy Ministry’s press service.

“Last week banks participating in the program Affordable Loans at 5-7-9% signed 490 agreements worth UAH 1.7 billion. In particular, UAH 1.1 billion of the total sum was issued as anti-crisis loans to replenish working capital, UAH 458 million was provided by authorized banks to refinance previously issued loans,” the report says.

Since the start of the program (February 2020), banks participating in the program have issued 33,436 loans for a total sum of UAH 85.2 billion, including UAH 23.7 billion as refinancing of previously received loans, UAH 10 billion for capital investments, and UAH 51 billion as anti-crisis loans.

The most active participants in the program are representatives of agriculture (43%), trade and production (27%) and industrial processing (17%). In terms of regions, the leaders are Lviv, Kharkiv, Dnipropetrovsk, Kyiv regions and the city of Kyiv.

As reported, the Cabinet of Ministers approved a resolution to launch the program "Affordable Loans at 5-7-9%" from February 1, 2020.

The program is implemented by the Entrepreneurship Development Fund, which has concluded cooperation agreements with 40 banks.
