Finance Ministry expects next IMF mission to start work in Ukraine soon

The Ukrainian Finance Ministry expects the next mission of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) will begin work in Ukraine in the near future.

Finance Minister Serhiy Marchenko wrote this on Facebook, Ukrinform reports.

"We hope for the next IMF mission to Ukraine will start soon. The current program assumes two tranches of USD 2.2 billion, and we continue implementing structural reforms to get it. We see progress in our relations with the IMF,” he wrote.

Marchenko also noted that Ukraine is holding negotiations with the U.S. Treasury about the possibility of getting credit guarantees for Ukraine. “And it is not only about money, but also it is the positive signal that can calm down the markets,” the minister wrote.

As Ukrinform reported, in November 2021, Ukraine received the second tranche from the International Monetary Fund under the Stand-By Arrangement in the amount of SDR 500 million (equivalent to $699 million).
