Deposits of individuals in Deposit Guarantee Fund’s banks grew by UAH 68B in 2021
The total amount of deposits of individuals in banks-participants of the Deposit Guarantee Fund of Ukraine amounted to UAH 675.6 billion in 2021, Ukrinform reports, referring to the Fund’s press service.
“As of January 1, 2022, the total amount of deposits of individuals (including private entrepreneurs) in banks-participants of the Deposit Guarantee Fund of Ukraine amounted to UAH 675.6 billion, which is 11.2% or UAH 68.0 billion more than as of January 1, 2021 (UAH 607.6 billion),” reads the report.
Out the total deposits of individuals in banks-members of the Deposit Guarantee Fund, hryvnia deposits totaled UAH 422.8 billion (+UAH 65.4 billion), deposits in foreign currency amounted to UAH 252.8 billion (+UAH 2.6 billion).
Some 98.0% of the depositors have fully protected deposits (which do not exceed UAH 200,000), which are subject to guarantees of the Fund. The total amount of these deposits is UAH 262.6 billion.
As of January 1, 2022, the share of private entrepreneurs in the structure of depositors was UAH 72.3 billion (10.4% of the total amount of deposits), which is UAH 18.6 billion more than at the beginning of 2021.
