President’s Office forecasts hryvnia stabilization within two-three months

The national currency exchange rate is expected to stabilize at UAH 27 per U.S. dollar within two or three months, according to the Ukrainian President’s Office.

“Within two or three months the exchange rate will return to its normal level – UAH 27-27.5 per dollar," Deputy Head of the President's Office Rostyslav Shurma said on the Right to Power political talk show, an Ukrinform correspondent reported.

At the same time, he noted that despite any information pressure, the exchange rate would not exceed UAH 30 per U.S. dollar.

As Ukrinform reported, in early January, non-residents began to reduce their portfolio of hryvnia denominated domestic government bonds, which affected the exchange rate. In January, the official exchange rate of hryvnia against the U.S. dollar devalued by 4.3%
