EU to provide €1.2B in macro-financial assistance to Ukraine

The European Union has signed a memorandum with Ukraine on the provision of €1.2B in macro-financial assistance.

Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal announced this on Telegram, expressing his sincere gratitude to Executive Vice President of the European Commission Valdis Dombrovskis.

Shmyhal called the signing of the memorandum "another gesture of strong support from the EU, which will help strengthen our economic potential to expel the Russian occupiers from Ukrainian land."

As reported, the International Monetary Fund together with the World Bank Group announced their support for Ukraine against the background of Russia's aggression, as well as readiness to provide urgent financial and other assistance.
