France’s Crédit Agricole stops commercial activity in Russia

France’s Crédit Agricole has expressed solidarity with Ukraine and stopped all commercial activity in Russia.

The relevant statement was released on the bank’s website, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

“Crédit Agricole has suspended its activities in Russia. Since the beginning of the conflict, the Group has stopped new financing to Russian companies and all commercial activity in Russia,” the report states.

According to the bank, the Group’s priority, since the beginning of the war, has been to secure and provide equipment and financial support to Crédit Agricole Ukraine’s 2,400 employees, who are still present on the territory of Ukraine and ensure that essential banking activities continue.

A reminder that, earlier, France’s BNP Paribas Group announced to its corporate customers that the Group would not conduct any new business in Russia.
