PM Shmyhal: We’ll start restoration in all cities of Ukraine
Ukraine will carefully record all the damage so that the aggressor will pay for it in full and we will be able to fully restore our state.
"We will start restoration in all cities of Ukraine. We will rebuild our entire state, every piece of land that has been destroyed by the enemy. We promised that every apartment, every house of our citizens would be rebuilt," Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal said on the air of the nationwide telethon, the Government portal reports.
He noted that a special service had already been launched on Diia application to gather information about people’s damaged or destroyed property.
"In addition, we have to revive lost opportunities. Because today we are being thrown back in economic development and in our scientific and industrial capabilities. All these things will need to be restored very quickly. All this will be covered by a plan to restore our state, which we are currently drafting with the participation of our huge scientific potential, our international partners," said the Prime Minister.
According to him, there will be different sources of recovery, first of all, the arrested and confiscated assets of the Russian Federation, as well as the help from partners, and the state budget of Ukraine. In addition, according to the Prime Minister, active work is underway with international partners to establish a fund for the restoration of Ukraine.
"We understand the need for money – hundreds of millions of dollars – which the world and Europe are ready to provide to Ukraine. The fund will also be replenished at the expense of confiscated assets of the Russian Federation and its subjects abroad. At the expense of the state budget of Ukraine, at the expense of restoration and increase in the economic potential of Ukraine,” Shmyhal noted.
The Prime Minister noted that he had already called on the heads of foreign cities to contact the leaders of Ukrainian sister cities and start elaborating restoration strategies together.
On February 24, Russian president Putin started a full-scale invasion of Ukraine. Russian invaders shell and destroy infrastructure, massively fire on residential areas of Ukrainian cities, towns, and villages using artillery, MLRS, ballistic missiles and aviation bombs.
