Ukrainian, Canadian foreign ministers discuss ways to unblock Ukrainian exports
Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba and his Canadian counterpart Melanie Joly have discussed ways to unblock Ukrainian food exports.
Kuleba reported this on Twitter, according to Ukrinform.
"At G7 meeting, Melanie Joly and I agreed Russian aggression gravely undermines global food security. We discussed ways to unblock Ukraine's food exports. Grateful to Canada for being the first country to pass legislation allowing to allocate Russian assets for rebuilding Ukraine," he said.
According to the UN's Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), as of early May, nearly 25 million tonnes of grains are stuck in Ukraine and unable to leave the country due to infrastructure challenges and blocked Black Sea ports including Mariupol.
