Germany plans to stop Russian oil imports regardless of EU sanctions – Yermak
Germany is planning to stop Russian oil imports regardless of EU sanctions.
The relevant statement was made by Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine Andriy Yermak on Telegram, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.
“Germany is planning to stop Russian oil imports regardless of EU sanctions. Talks with alternative suppliers are underway. According to Bloomberg, the country will put an end to this issue by the end of the year,” Yermak wrote.
In his words, an oil embargo is very important, and Ukraine is calling on the EU to include a Russian oil embargo in the sixth sanctions package.
“As part of the Energy Sanctions Roadmap, McFaul-Yermak’s expert group has offered our allies the ways of implementing such restrictions,” Yermak noted.
A reminder that, on February 24, 2022, Russian President Vladimir Putin initiated a full-scale invasion of Ukraine, starting a war. Russian troops are shelling and destroying the key infrastructure facilities, launching missile and air strikes on Ukrainian cities and villages, torturing and murdering civilians.
