Zelensky discusses Ukraine's financial needs with IMF Managing Director
President Volodymyr Zelensky discussed the financial support for the Ukrainian economy with IMF Managing Director Kristalina Georgieva.
“Continued the dialogue with IMF Managing Director Kristalina Georgieva. Discussed the need for financial support of Ukrainian economy. The IMF is our important partner. We look forward to further fruitful joint work in maintaining financial stability of Ukraine,” Zelensky posted on Twitter.
As reported, during the Spring Meetings of the International Monetary Fund and the World Bank, the Ministry of Finance of Ukraine suggested that international partners should consider several options of providing financial support to Ukraine, including opening IMF’s special administrative account to credit funds from donor countries and assisting through the World Bank Trust Fund. According to Finance Minister Serhiy Marchenko, it is important for Ukraine to receive assistance in the form of grants to maintain debt security at a proper level.
