Vinnytsia Region ready to export about 1.75M tonnes of grain
Farmers from Vinnytsia Region are ready to export about 1.75 million tonnes of grain, which is now kept in grain elevators.
The relevant statement was made by Vinnytsia Regional Military Administration, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.
“Annually, Vinnytsia Region’s farmers export 1.5-1.6 million tonnes of grain. But, this year they have been unable to sell grain stocks on time. […] In early May, Vinnytsia Region’s elevators and grain storages contained about 350,000 tonnes of wheat and 1.4 million tonnes of corn,” Vinnytsia Regional Military Administration Head Serhii Borzov told.
Last year agricultural enterprises of all forms of ownership produced 6.5 million tonnes of grain in Vinnytsia Region. The annual volume of the region’s grain exports is 1.5-1.8 million tonnes. The annual domestic market demand is 220,000-230,000 tonnes.
In 2022, the production output of grain is expected to reach 4.5-5 million tonnes.
A reminder that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky called on the international community to help Ukraine unblock sea ports to prevent the global food crisis.
