Ukraine expects to harvest about 67M tonnes of grain and oilseed crops in 2022
In 2022, Ukraine expects to harvest about 52 million tonnes of grain crops and 13-15 million tonnes of oilseed crops.
The relevant statement was made by Ukrainian Agrarian Policy and Food First Deputy Minister Taras Vysotskyi at a press conference, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.
“Currently, we expect this year’s yield of grain crops to reach 52 million tonnes and oilseed crops – about 13-15 million tonnes,” Vysotskyi told.
In his words, these are not hard numbers, as it is impossible to predict this year’s yield of corn at the moment.
A reminder that the harvesting of early grain and leguminous crops has started practically all over Ukraine. As of July 15, 2022, Ukrainian farmers gathered early grain and leguminous crops from 1.2 million hectares (10% of the planted area) and threshed 3.6 million tonnes of grain.
