Ukraine preparing to increase electricity exports to EU - Zelensky
Ukraine is preparing to export more electricity to consumers in the European Union.
President Volodymyr Zelensky said in his video address, an Ukrinform correspondent reported.
“We are preparing to increase our export of electricity to consumers in the European Union. Despite such a war, we ensured the connection of Ukraine’s power grid to the energy system of the entire Europe in record time. Our exports allow us not only to earn foreign currency, but also to help our partners withstand Russian energy pressure,” Zelensky said.
He also said it would be possible to gradually to make Ukraine one of the guarantors of European energy security due to the domestic electricity production.
As reported, revenues of Ukraine from the access to interstate power grids at cross-border sections with Romania and Slovakia in the first 27 days of exporting electricity to the EU exceeded UAH 500 million.
