Ukrainian grain export: Razoni ship passes inspection

The Razoni bulk carrier has passed the inspection of the Joint Coordination Center and is ready to proceed to its destination.

As the press service of the Ministry of Infrastructure of Ukraine posted on Facebook, the ship carrying Ukrainian corn left the Odesa port the day before yesterday and heads to the port of Tripoli in Lebanon. Its stop in the territorial waters of Turkey is linked with the next stage of the implementation of the grain initiative signed in Istanbul, namely the inspection of ship to make sure there is no prohibited cargo.

"This is the first ship that moves along the grain corridor agreed on with the UN and Turkey. Thanks to the Armed Forces of Ukraine and the port services, Razoni safely made its way to the Bosphorus, where it was inspected by representatives of the JCC. On Razoni's example, all the necessary control and coordination measures between Ukraine and the signatory partners – the UN and Turkey – are finalized and worked out," said Minister of Infrastructure Oleksandr Kubrakov.

He emphasized that control in Ukrainian ports or territorial waters remains exclusively with Ukraine.

The Ministry of Infrastructure noted that applications for the entry of new ships to Ukrainian ports for loading agricultural products were being accepted. Currently, 17 ships are loaded and are awaiting permission to leave.

As reported, the first ship loaded with corn started moving along the grain corridor from the Odesa port on Monday morning.

The ship was scheduled to arrive in Istanbul at 15:00, but the arrival was postponed due to sea conditions. The ship anchored at around 21:00 on Tuesday evening.
