European Commission President announces additional EUR 5B in macro-financial assistance to Ukraine

European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen has announced that Brussels will offer Ukraine an additional 5 billion euros in macro-financial assistance this week.

“The situation on the ground in Ukraine still requires our unabated support. On top of the €10 billion we have provided so far, we will propose an additional €5 billion in macro-financial assistance this week. The EU will be by Ukraine’s side, for as long as it takes,” the European Commission President posted on Twitter.

As reported, Ukraine’s government delegation led by Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal took part in the 8th Meeting of the EU-Ukraine Association Council on Monday.
