Ukraine gets EUR 500M as first tranche from European Investment Bank
Ukraine has received EUR 500 million as the first tranche from the European Investment Bank from a total aid package of EUR 1.59 billion.
According to Ukrinform, Ukraine's Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal reported this on Twitter.
"Today, Ukraine received the first tranche of €500 million from €1.59 billion aid package of the EIB," Shmyhal wrote.
He also thanked EIB President Werner Hoyer and the European Commission for their help to Ukraine.
He added that the funds would be used to rebuild infrastructure, support the economy and ensure the urgent needs of Ukrainians.
On July 25, the Board of Directors of the European Investment Bank, with the support of the European Commission, approved additional financial assistance for Ukraine in the amount of EUR 1.59 billion to finance infrastructure and urgent needs.
