Over 200 businesses relocated to Lviv region, most of them already working – Tymoshenko
Over 200 Ukrainian businesses have relocated to the Lviv region as part of the business relocation program, and 144 of them are already working.
The relevant statement was made by Deputy Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine Kyrylo Tymoshenko on Telegram, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.
“Economy must work! We are making a lot of efforts to ensure that the Ukrainian business sector feels the maximum government support. One of focus areas is the relocation of businesses to western Ukraine,” Tymoshenko wrote.
In his words, most enterprises relocated to the Lviv region are those involved in light and food industries, engineering and metalworking.
Together with the Head of Lviv Regional Military Administration, Tymoshenko visited two relocated enterprises, MatroLuxe and Pozhmashyna.
Pozhmashyna is Ukraine’s only manufacturer of large specialized firefighting equipment. The enterprise used to be located in the Chernihiv region. One-third of the company’s production facilities were evacuated. Now they are planning to produce agricultural machinery and assemble fire trucks in the Lviv region.
MatroLuxe is specializing in the production of orthopedic mattresses. The company has relocated from the city of Dnipro and expects to create about 200 jobs.
A reminder that the government business relocation program is now in effect in Ukraine. The enterprises situated in the area of active hostilities can receive government assistance and relocate their production facilities to western Ukraine. As of September 2022, about 500 businesses had already relocated to the Zakarpattia region and 100 businesses to the Chernivtsi region.
