Parliament dismisses Shevchenko as NBU governor
The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine has dismissed Kyrylo Shevchenko from the post of governor of the National Bank of Ukraine.
First Deputy Head of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Finance, Taxation and Customs Policy, Yaroslav Zhelezniak announced this on Telegram, Ukrinform reports.
According to him, a total of 263 MPs supported resolution No.8104 on the dismissal of Shevchenko from the post of the NBU head.
As reported, on October 4, NBU Governor Kyrylo Shevchenko confirmed that he had submitted a resignation letter to the President of Ukraine "due to the health-related issues."
On October 5, President Volodymyr Zelensky registered in the Verkhovna Rada a draft resolution on the dismissal of Kyrylo Shevchenko from the post of governor of the National Bank of Ukraine (No.8104).
The Ukrainian parliament appointed Kyrylo Shevchenko as NBU governor on July 16, 2020.
