United States to help Ukraine restore infrastructure

The Ministry of Infrastructure of Ukraine, the U.S. Departments of Transportation and Commerce signed a Joint Statement on supporting Ukraine’s infrastructure resilience and restoration.

This was reported by the Ukrainian ministry’s press service on Facebook, according to Ukrinform.

"With today's statement, we are moving to a strategic level of cooperation in the field of infrastructure. Our priority is ‘survival projects’ that will allow the Ukrainian economy to sustain the war and return normal life to the de-occupied territories," said Minister of Infrastructure Oleksandr Kubrakov.

According to him, the signed document envisages the establishment of a Joint Working Group (Task Force), which will deal with the issue of involving U.S. state institutions, businesses and experts in the process of restoring Ukraine's infrastructure.

The parties also agreed to hold an inaugural working-level meeting in the coming months. Its work will be coordinated by the Ministry of Infrastructure of Ukraine, the U.S. Departments of Transportation and Commerce.

"Within the framework of the created joint working group, we will be able to build an effective model of our cooperation and quickly proceed to the implementation of certain projects. We expect the active participation of U.S. business and expert organizations in this process," Kubrakov added.

As reported, since the first day of Russia’s full-scale invasion, the United States has remained a key political, military, and economic ally of Ukraine.
