NBU keeps key policy rate at 25%

The National Bank of Ukraine (NBU) has decided to leave its key policy rate unchanged at 25%.

NBU Governor Andriy Pyshnyy said this at a briefing, an Ukrinform correspondent reported.

“The Board of the National Bank of Ukraine has decided to keep its key policy rate at 25% per annum,” he said.

According to him, with exchange rate stability supported by the key policy rate and the NBU’s additional measures, inflation processes will remain under control.

As expected, inflation has been rising during the war but remains controllable, he said.

As reported by Ukrinform, the NBU raised the key policy to 10% in January 2022. After the beginning of the Russian armed aggression, the NBU decided to keep the key policy rate unchanged. However, on June 3, 2022, the key policy rate was raised from 10 to 25%.
