More than 1M tonnes of agricultural products exported through ‘grain corridor’ in past week

More than 1 million tonnes of Ukrainian agricultural products, including 309 thousand tonnes of wheat, were exported through the grain corridor in the past week.

This was reported by the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine, according to Ukrinform.

"The statistics of the [grain] corridor operation in the past week: Ukraine sent almost 0.5 million tonnes of corn and 309 thousand tonnes of wheat. The total tonnage of agricultural products per week is 1.1 million tonnes," the report says.

The total amount of agricultural products exported by sea exceeded 10 million tonnes. As many as 430 ships left the ports of Great Odesa, including 279 ships carrying corn and wheat.

The Ministry of Agrarian Policy emphasizes that 618,000 tonnes of wheat, or 21% of the total amount, were transported to lower-income countries during the three months of the "grain initiative". A total of 579,000 tonnes of wheat were transported to Turkey, and then the flour will be sold to the countries experiencing a humanitarian crisis. In the overall percentage ratio, this is another 19.6%.

It is noted that the queue of ships with Ukrainian grain in the Bosphorus has decreased from 120 to less than 40 ships over the past three days. About 100 ships are already waiting at the entrance to Istanbul, all of them are heading to Ukraine to be loaded with agricultural products.

Today, November 3, seven more ships with 290,000 tonnes of agricultural products left Ukrainian ports.
