Two bulk carriers with grain to leave Ukrainian ports for countries on brink of famine
In the ports of Odesa and Chornomorsk, two bulk carriers are being loaded with wheat intended for the countries that are on the brink of famine.
The Ministry of Infrastructure of Ukraine reported this on Facebook, according to Ukrinform.
"Two bulk carriers, chartered by the UN World Food Program, entered Great Odesa ports to be loaded with wheat for the residents of Ethiopia, Yemen and Afghanistan," the report reads.
It is emphasized that each of the two ships will carry 40,000 tonnes of Ukrainian wheat.
In addition, today, November 12, as part of the "grain initiative", 2 ships with 27 thousand tonnes of agricultural products left the port of Chornomorsk for Asian countries.
The ministry also reported that there are currently 33 ships in Great Odesa ports. They will be loaded with 920,000 tonnes of Ukrainian agricultural products.
On November 11, as part of the "grain initiative", four ships carrying 120 thousand tonnes of Ukrainian agricultural products left the ports of Odesa, Chornomorsk and Pivdennyi bound for the countries of Asia and Europe. Since the beginning of the "grain initiative", 44 ships have left Odesa ports, exporting 10.3 million tonnes of Ukrainian food to the countries of Africa, Asia and Europe.
