PM: Almost all critical infrastructure facilities re-connected to power grid

As of November 25, power producers cover 70% of consumers' needs. Currently, almost all critical infrastructure facilities in the country have been re-connected to power grid.

"To date, there is not a single thermal power plant or hydroelectric plant power in Ukraine that has not been fired upon by the enemy. Despite this, our energy system has emerged from a severe system accident. Currently, electricity producers provide 70% coverage of consumption needs," Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal said at the Cabinet’s meeting.

The Head of Government specified that almost all critical infrastructure in the country has been connected to power grid. The highway high-voltage infrastructure is working, but there are still problems in the distribution networks of regional energy companies throughout the country.

"In general, there is still a significant deficit in the energy system. Therefore, in order to keep it in balance, both scheduled and emergency shutdowns of consumers continue to operate," Shmyhal added.

As reported, on November 23, the Russians once again shelled the energy infrastructure. Emergency and scheduled power outages are currently in place across Ukraine.

Due to a decrease in the frequency in the energy system of Ukraine, emergency protection was activated at the Rivne, South Ukraine, and Khmelnytsky NPPs, as a result of which all power units automatically shut down. Energoatom national power company makes efforts to restore their operation.

As of November 25, all nuclear power plants located in the unoccupied territory of Ukraine are reconnected to the power grid.
