Ukraine has already imposed sanctions on 4,500 Russians
For the 100 days of activity of the Interagency Working Group (IWG) on the implementation of the sanctions policy, sanctions were imposed on almost 4,500 individuals and legal entities.
As the press service of the Ministry of Economy reports, sanctions were imposed on almost 4,500 individuals and legal entities, worked out and recommended against over 6,000 individuals and legal entities more.
"I believe that the gained pace will allow President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky to fulfill his task of increasing sanctions pressure on the aggressor. Further on, we will keep intensifying efforts in this area," noted Yuliya Svyrydenko, Head of the IWG, First Deputy Prime Minister – Minister of Economy of Ukraine.
The sanctioned individuals include the children and relatives of Vladimir Putin and Sergey Lavrov; businessman Sergey Roldugin, known as "Putin's wallet"; top political and military leadership of Russia and Belarus; Russian oligarchs on the Forbes list and their entourage: Arkadiy Rotenberg and Boris Rotenberg, Mikhail Prokhorov, Suleiman Kerimov, Yuriy Kovalchuk, etc. – a total of 256 people.
The legal entities sanctioned include banks, in particular Alfa-Bank (Russia), companies related to Sberbank of Russia, VTB Bank, mining and processing industry enterprises, metallurgy enterprises, in particular Alrosa, Tatneft, and Tatoil, enterprises of the Lukoil group, transport and logistics companies, airports, airlines, etc.
In addition, proposals for the imposition of sanctions on over 6,000 individuals and legal entities more were considered and recommended for consideration by the National Security and Defense Council. The draft sanctions target 1,000 representatives of the Russian government, the military leadership, the banking sector, more than 2,000 propagandists, cultural figures, bloggers, athletes, TV and radio broadcasting companies, publishing houses, etc., and more than 3,000 enterprises of the military-industrial complex.
As reported, on October 19, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky signed decrees on the imposition of sanctions on 2,507 individuals and 1,374 legal entities – citizens of Russia, Belarus and Ukraine. Thus, the Head of State enacted the decision of the National Security and Defense Council to impose sanctions on 256 individuals – oligarchs on the Forbes list and their entourage.
