First batch of energy aid arrives from Azerbaijan

Distribution system operators of the most affected regions will receive energy equipment from Azerbaijan.

The first batch has already arrived in Ukraine, as reported by the Ministry of Energy of Ukraine on Facebook, according to Ukrinform.

"The shipment of energy equipment to support the energy sector of Ukraine has arrived from the Republic of Azerbaijan," the statement reads.

It is emphasized that the first batch of equipment weighing more than 52 tonnes consists of 45 power transformers and five backup power plants of various capacities. The second batch is set to arrive in the near future.

According to Energy Minister Herman Galushchenko, the electrical equipment will be transferred to the regions most affected by Russian strikes. In particular, these are the operators of distribution systems of Mykolaiv, Sumy, Kherson, Kharkiv, Zaporizhia, Chernihiv regions, as well as power generating companies.

In general, the assistance from JSC Azerenergy consists of 45 power transformers and 50 generators worth a total of over $800,000.

As reported, the Ministry of Economy of Georgia stated that 1.5 million lari (about $562,000) was allocated for the purchase of generators for Ukraine in accordance with the government's resolution.
