EU countries have already sent more than 1,000 generators to Ukraine
In 2022, the EU countries have sent more than 1,000 power generators to Ukraine against the background of Russian attacks on energy infrastructure facilities.
“To provide electricity to homes and hospitals, European countries have offered more than 1,000 power generators to Ukraine. Through the EU Civil Protection Mechanism, almost 78,000 tonnes of in-kind assistance have also been delivered to the country,” European Commissioner for Crisis Management Janez Lenarčič posted on Twitter.
As reported, the European Commission last week handed over 40 powerful generators from the emergency rescEU reserves of the EU Civil Protection Mechanism to Ukraine. Each such generator with a capacity of 220 kVA (176 kW) is sufficient to meet the energy needs of a hospital.
Power equipment continues to arrive in Ukraine from other partners, in particular from Canada, Georgia, Azerbaijan, and other world countries.
The deliveries are the international community's response to the Russian targeted attacks on Ukraine’s critical infrastructure.
