Over 20% of Ukraine's arable land temporarily occupied - agrarian policy minister

Over 20% of Ukraine's arable land is temporarily occupied by Russian forces.

Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food Mykola Solskyi announced this at a press briefing at the Media Center Ukraine – Ukrinform.

"Now, nearly over 20% of arable land is not under the control of Ukraine – these areas of land are under occupation," he said.

Solskyi added that the areas where winter wheat and corn, as well as sunflower were mainly sown remain occupied. The minister emphasized that these lands are also contaminated with mines.

As reported by Ukrinform, according to preliminary estimates of the Ministry of Agrarian Policy, more than 1 million hectares of soil in Ukraine was affected by Russia’s full-scale invasion.
