Ukrenergo: Energy situation challenging but controlled after Russian massive attack
Following Russia’s recent missile and drone attack, the situation in Ukraine’s energy system is challenging but controlled. Emergency blackouts are introduced in Kharkiv due to the damage caused to energy objects.
The relevant statement was made by Ukrenergo National Power Company on Telegram, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.
“For over a day, the enemy has been continuously attacking our country’s energy facilities. Last night, the 17th drone attack took place in southern and southeastern regions. Unfortunately, thermal power plants and main network objects again were hit,” the report states.
According to the company, thanks to the professional competence of repair crews, emergency power outages were prevented.
Meanwhile, due to network restrictions introduced after the main network objects were hit by Russians, emergency power outages can take place in such regions as Khmelnytskyi, Zhytomyr, Kyiv, and the city of Kyiv.
In the Odesa region, in cooperation with the regional power distribution company, Ukrenergo’s professionals managed to put some equipment into operation. The work is underway to restore power supply services in the region.
