Ministry of Energy: Ukraine may launch green or low-carbon hydrogen exports

Ukraine has good prospects of becoming an exporter not only of carbon-free electricity but also of green or low-carbon hydrogen.

"Ukraine may become an exporter not only of carbon-free electricity but also of green or low-carbon hydrogen and its derivatives, such as green ammonia and green methanol," stressed Deputy Minister of Energy Yaroslav Demchenkov, the Ministry’s press service informs.

He pointed to Ukraine's significant energy potential, which can help Europe strengthen its energy security, and called on European business to start working on relevant joint projects and invest in the recovery of the Ukrainian energy sector.

"We need to create conditions so that most of the added value remains in Ukraine and for this, we need the support of our partners in the field of green technologies and affordable financing," Demchenkov added.

As reported, Energy Minister German Galushchenko called on French business to invest in the restoration of Ukraine's energy sector.
