Ukraine's energy minister hopes power consumption limits will no longer be needed
The situation with electricity supply in Ukraine has improved significantly, so there could be no power outages any longer.
Ukrainian Energy Minister German Galushchenko said this on Ukrainian television, Ukrinform reports.
"I am very glad that now the energy system is operating in a deficit-free mode. Electricity production has fully covered consumption for the third week already. We have some reserves and, in principle, we plan to continue to support our energy system so that people do not experience any limited supply. I really hope that we won't need any limits at all in terms of electricity consumption," Galushchenko said.
According to him, the country's energy sector is being restored with the support of international partners and their assistance. The key task now is to restore damaged facilities before the next heating season and ensure maximum decentralization of the energy system, Galushchenko said.
