International aid allows Ukraine’s energy system to stand against Russian attacks – Galushchenko
The aid provided by international partners to Ukraine’s energy sector has allowed the Ukrainian energy system to stand against Russian attacks and stabilize performance.
The relevant statement was made by Ukrainian Energy Minister German Galushchenko during his visit to Stockholm, an Ukrinform correspondent reports, referring to the Ukrainian Energy Ministry.
“First of all, I want to thank everyone for support, which is provided to us. That is not only support with money but support with equipment, all necessary high-voltage equipment, all kinds of equipment, which we received from our friends,” Galushchenko said, adding that this allows Ukraine to stand against Russian terrorist attacks on its energy infrastructure.
According to Galushchenko, he is planning to discuss with European colleagues the further coordination of efforts in the international arena in order to tighten pressure on Russia and reduce its influence in energy markets, as well as cooperation related to the restoration of Ukraine’s energy system.
As part of his visit to Stockholm, Galushchenko held bilateral meetings with Swedish Energy Minister Ebba Busch, Bulgarian Energy Minister Rosen Hristov and Belgian Energy Minister Tinne Van der Straeten. The parties discussed the issues of energy security, increased energy independence, as well as assistance to Ukraine in its struggle against Russian armed aggression.
