Ukraine has enough gas stocks to end 2022-2023 heating season – Naftogaz CEO
Ukraine has enough natural gas stocks to end the 2022-2023 heating season.
The relevant statement was made by Naftogaz of Ukraine NJSC CEO Oleksiy Chernyshov during a nationwide telethon, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.
“I can inform you and guarantee that natural gas stocks that we are having this winter are completely enough. Moreover, we have started preparations for the 2023-2023 heating season,” Chernyshov said.
In his words, Naftogaz of Ukraine NJSC will plan ahead and start preparations for the following heating season in advance annually.
According to Chernyshov, Naftogaz provides 12.5 million Ukrainian household consumers with natural gas.
“We have absolutely enough gas stocks to get us through this heating season, and gas stocks are related not only to the heating season. Gas is consumed even after the heating season ends, because manufacturing industry, businesses, public utility services and other sectors continue working. We need to keep the appropriate balance on a monthly basis,” Chernyshov noted.
A reminder that, at a meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine on February 28, 2023, Ukrainian Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal noted that the heating season had not yet been over, but it was possible to say that Ukraine had already gone through the most challenging period.
