Three thermal power plants in Ukraine affected in latest Russian attack

As a result of today's missile attack, three thermal power plants run by DTEK Energo were damaged. At one of the facilities, equipment sustained “serious damage.”

That’s according to DTEK’s report on Telegram, seen by Ukrinform.

"The enemy continues to launch massive terrorist attacks on Ukraine’s energy facilities. Today, March 9, three DTEK Energo’s thermal power plants were damaged by strikes. According to tentative reports, there were no casualties," the statement reads.

It is noted that the equipment was seriously damaged as a result of the shelling targeting one of those sites. After the air raid alert was over, power industry experts promptly scrambled to tackle the consequences of the strike.

As reported, DTEK TPPs have been attacked 29 times since last September. As a result, three power engineers were killed and 28 – injured.
