Ukraine’s liquefied gas imports decreasing for third month in a row

In February 2023, Ukraine imported 64,100 tonnes of liquefied gas, which is 19% less than in January in 2023 and 36% less than in December 2022.

According to enkorr, the volume of liquefied gas imports to Ukraine has been decreasing for the third month in a row against the background of a surplus. Due to the low prices of Russian liquefied gas shipped to Ukraine from Polish and Baltic terminals, other sources of supply are gradually cut off.

In February, the number of gas supplier countries decreased from 12 to 7. Last month, Ukrainian companies stopped importing liquefied gas from Kazakhstan and Bulgaria. There were also no deliveries from the Czech Republic, Serbia and Estonia.

Liquefied gas supplies from Poland decreased by 8% to 31,400 tonnes, and from Romania - by 9% to 9,800 tonnes. The growth in liquefied gas supplies was recorded only from the Baltic States. Last month, 21,800 tonnes of liquefied gas were shipped from Latvia and Lithuania to Ukraine, which is 21% more than in January.

As reported, as of March 8, the price of liquefied gas continues to drop at Ukrainian filling stations, which decreased on average by another 11 kopecks per liter — to UAH 23.19/liter.
