DTEK preparing mines to provide TPPs with coal next winter
DTEK Energy has put into service six new longwalls since the beginning of 2023 in order to provide Ukrainian thermal power plants (TPPs) with coal next winter.
The relevant statement was made by DTEK on Telegram, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.
“Coal mining is not a quick process. Therefore, it is necessary to work now, so that thermal power plants are provided with the resources required for their operation during winter. For this purpose, DTEK Energy has put into service six new longwalls since the beginning of the year,” the report states.
According to the company, this will help to maintain the pace of coal production that is needed to ensure the stable performance of Ukrainian TPPs.
“As last year, miners will be working to the maximum, so that Ukraine can pass through the next, no less difficult, heating season,” DTEK added.
In 2022, DTEK Energy’s coal mining enterprises put into service 28 new longwalls.
A reminder that DTEK has launched maintenance works at thermal power units and is planning to repair 28 objects by the end of 2023.
