Ukraine receives about 6,000 tonnes of energy equipment from international partners
The Ministry of Energy distributed 6,000 tonnes of equipment provided by international partners as humanitarian aid among 111 energy sector enterprises.
"Thirty countries have already provided humanitarian aid to the energy sector. These are 470 cargoes with a total weight of about 6,000 tonnes. The Ministry of Energy has distributed humanitarian aid among 111 enterprises in the energy sector," Deputy Minister of Energy of Ukraine Farid Safarov said, the Ministry’s press service informs.
To date, more than EUR 151 million is on the special account of the Ukraine Energy Support Fund. The working group of the Ministry of Energy already approved a list of equipment, fuel, and services worth more than EUR 137 million for the supply of 41 energy companies under the procurement procedure through the Fund. As for the remaining funds, new requests are prepared from energy companies that ensure production, transmission, distribution of electricity; storage, distribution, and transportation of natural gas, as well as from mining industry companies.
As reported, at the initiative of the European Commission and with the approval of the Ministry of Energy, the Energy Community Secretariat created the Ukraine Energy Support Fund which enables governments, international financial institutions, and international organizations, as well as private donors, to provide emergency financial support for the Ukrainian energy industry. The Fund is managed by the Energy Community Secretariat, and the procurement is carried out by USAID according to transparent, fast, and efficient procedures.
