UCAB: Ukraine’s agricultural exports via sea ports cut by 26% over past week

Between March 20, 2023 and March 26, 2023, a total of 804.2 thousand tonnes of agricultural products were exported via the Odesa region’s sea ports, which is 26% lower compared to the previous week.

The relevant statement was made by the Ukrainian Agribusiness Club (UCAB), an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

During that period, twenty-two ships were loaded at the Odesa region’s ports, which is equal to the number of vessels loaded during the previous week.

Most export shipments consisted of corn (52% of the total exports), wheat (29%) and soybeans (5%).

Ukrainian-produced agricultural products were exported to Asia (China, Bangladesh, Vietnam, etc.), Europe (Spain, Italy and the Netherlands) and Africa (Egypt, Algeria, Ethiopia, etc.).

The validity of the ‘grain corridor’ has recently been extended for another 120 days, which gives Ukrainian farmers hope that their products will be sold and the spring sowing campaign will be completed properly, the UCAB noted.

In general, since the ‘grain corridor’ was launched on August 1, 2022, Ukraine has exported 25.9 million tonnes of agricultural products.
