Ukraine gets first IMF tranche worth $2.7B
The International Monetary Fund issued Ukraine the first US$2.7 billion tranche under a new Extended Fund Facility.
NBU Governor Andriy Pyshnyy broke the news on Facebook, Ukrinform reports.
"This is 2 billion special drawing rights, which is about $2.7 billion. We are grateful to our partners for their quick assistance and are already actively working to successfully pass the first review of the program and receive from the IMF our next tranche," Pyshnyy wrote.
As Ukrinform reported earlier, on March 31, 2023, the IMF Executive Board approved a new Extended Fund Facility for Ukraine totaling $15.6 billion.
