Government transfers UAH 17.5B to local budgets in March

In March 2023, local budgets received UAH 17.5 billion in transfers from the general fund of the state budget.

"In March 2023, the Government of Ukraine, in accordance with the budget legislation, ensured the interbudgetary transfers worth UAH 17.5 billion to local budgets, which is 84% of the approved plan," the press service of the Finance Ministry reported.

In particular, UAH 2.4 billion was transferred as basic subsidy, or 100% of the budget targets, and UAH 6.8 billion was transferred as educational subvention, or 100% of the budget targets.

In March, a reverse subsidy in the amount of UAH 0.7 billion remained at the disposal of local self-government bodies, territories where hostilities are (were) being conducted, or temporarily occupied territories, which was not transferred to the state budget in wartime conditions.

The balances of funds on the accounts of local budgets and budgetary institutions under the general and special funds increased by UAH 34 billion in January-March 2023, and came to UAH 149.4 billion as of April 1, 2023.

The balance of funds grew in all regions of Ukraine. Due to these resources, local self-government bodies will continue to provide funding for priority needs at the local level.

As reported by Ukrinform, local budgets received UAH 137 billion in transfers from the general fund of the state budget in January-December 2022.
