PM Shmyhal signs agreement with USAID to increase foreign investments in Ukraine

Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal has signed an agreement with the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) and the Development Finance Corporation (DFC) to promote private sector involvement and increase investment.

The U.S. Embassy in Ukraine said this in a Facebook post, Ukrinform reports.

“USAID Administrator Samantha Power met with Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal to discuss Ukraine’s economic recovery and our joint commitment to transparency and accountability. They signed a new agreement between USAID – U.S. Agency for International Development, U.S. International Development Finance Corporation and Ukraine to help bolster private sector engagement and increase foreign direct investment,” the embassy said.

As reported by Ukrinform, the Prime Minister of Ukraine arrived in the United States on a visit on Wednesday, April 12. The day before, Denys Shmyhal paid a working visit to Canada. There he met with Prime Minister of Canada Justin Trudeau and Deputy Prime Minister - Minister of Finance of Canada Chrystia Freeland.
