In Donetsk region, war-related agricultural losses reach UAH 2.6B

In Donetsk region, as a result of Russia's full-scale invasion, the property of 255 private and state-owned agricultural enterprises sustained damaged, with losses reaching UAH 2.6 billion. 

This was reported by the Donetsk Regional Military Administration with reference to its chief, Pavlo Kyrylenko, Ukrinform saw.

"Agriculture in Donetsk region was seriously affected by the full-scale invasion as property of 255 private and state-owned enterprises, including 214 in the field of harvesting, was damaged. Eighty properties and more than 3,000 units of equipment were destroyed, and more than 3,000 hectares of crops were burned. Tentative losses amount to UAH 2.6 billion," the statement said.

According to Kyrylenko, unfortunately, a significant part of farmland across the region remains contaminated with mines and unexploded ordnance so it is impossible to conduct agricultural activities there.

Nevertheless, the head of the RMA emphasized that farmers in Donetsk region continue to work wherever possible while regional authorities continue to support them. Some fields in the region have already been sown with spring and winter crops.

As reported,  Donetsk region is constantly shelled by the Russian invasion forces. Every day, enemy strikes kill and maim civilians, also destroying civilian infrastructure.
