Ukraine’s agriexports to Poland at nearly 10% of general volume - minister

Before the introduction of restrictions by Poland, Ukraine supplied approximately 10% of the total agricultural exports to the country, including those bound for transit.

This was announced by the Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food, Mykola Solskyi, who spoke at the national telethon, Ukrinform reports.

"Everything that crossed the Polish border and went to Polish companies or enterprises or transited through Poland to other EU countries or through ports to other parts of the world – that’s approximately 10% of everything that Ukraine exported," minister said.

Solskyi added that, depending on the month, Hungary accounts for approximately 6% of the total agricultural exports from Ukraine.

As Ukrinform reported earlier, the European Commission considers unacceptable a series of unilateral trade decisions made by Poland and Hungary, banning the import of Ukrainian grain and other foodstuffs.

On April 15, 2023, Hungary and Poland introduced temporary bans on the import of grain and oil crops from Ukraine until June 30, 2023.
